Hello UCSB Residents,
I am here to give you all the latest rundown of what is going on in San Nicolas and the Chi Five area. Although All Hall Brawl was three weeks ago, I’d still like to thank all the residents from every hall who went, for demonstrating pride in your buildings and the residence halls as a whole. Recent developments in the area include a Glow in the Dark Volleyball tournament being held on February 28th around 8pm. If you have witnessed any construction going on in the Chi Five area, it is probably because they are currently working on an outdoor gym which is completed and opened yesterday. Also if you are a San Nicolas resident, keep your eyes out for a March Madness Competition where you can try to predict what will happen in this year's basketball playoff season (prize for the winner). San Nicolas is also recycling for Project Care, so our hall will be collecting recycled bottles and cans from floor lounge recycling bins in order to raise money for Project Care. The floor that raises the most money, accumulates the least amount of damage, and demonstrates their awareness of Project Care principles will win a pizza party at the end of Spring Quarter. For any UCSB resident, do you have any brilliant ideas on how to improve your residence hall or anything run by housing? If so, there is a way to submit your ideas. Use this link https://info.housing.ucsb.edu/ci.aspx to submit your ideas to be looked at by IGEN and it may actually be implemented in the time you spend here in the residence halls. On that note, I hope you all enjoy the rest of winter quarter and good luck on finals because they are just around the corner.
San Nicolas Hall Council President
SAN MIGUEL!!!!! I'm sorry but I am just so stoked to be living in this Residence Hall and being able to represent these amazing residents in Hall Council. We do our best here to provide the residents here with an awesome community experience. Being the residence hall with the smallest population on campus comes with its advantages and disadvantages, but disadvantages are negligible. We're just awesome. We're stoked for All Hall Brawl, and we have the spirit to prove it. If anything, being a San Miguelian speaks for itself, and we're going to come in kicking.
Our duck selfies for the I Heart UCSB initiative were through the roof, and our hall's baby basil plant is growing astoundingly well in our hall (it must be the stellar environment of San Miguel-the same growth can be seen in our residents :) . As for Hall Council, we're doing as excellent as ever. We just recently had a viewing of Blackfish in our formal lounge as a program from our Environmental Chair, a multicultural event coming up, and we just had a Superbowl party with the help of our Athletics Chair. In regards to Project CARE, our only damages have come from accidental fire alarms after hours, so you know that our residents care about their home. The San Miguel- Silver (platinum) Manta-Rays (yes, (S&M)^2). Our plans for the rest of Winter quarter are of immense magnitude, and for Spring? Well, you'll just have to see. San Miguel so SWELL.
