What Is It?
This Winter Quarter, the UCSB Residence Halls Association (RHA) and the UCSB Student Apartment Community Council (SACC) are hoping to merge and become the Residential Housing Association, and we want to hear your input!
Who Is RHA?
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is an organization for all students in the UC Santa Barbara residence halls, which include Anacapa, Manzanita, San Catalina, San Miguel, San Nicolas, San Rafael, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, and Sierra Madre. RHA is devoted to representing the residence hall student concerns and to sponsor educational, social, recreational and diversity focused programs. During the year, RHA plans a large number of diverse events such as an All Hall Talent Show, All Hall Ball and the annual Sandcastles Day. UC Santa Barbara’s RHA is nationally recognized for its quality and variety of activities. We represent resident interests to the campus as well as issues such as parking and health insurance. Participation in RHA is open to everyone. Elections for Floor and Hall Council officers are held early in the fall quarter. If you are interested in a hall officer position, see your RA.
Who Is SACC?
The Student Apartment Community Council (SACC) is a council of students living in university-owned apartments, which includes Santa Ynez, El Dorado, and Westwinds. SACC is devoted to making sure the apartment residents’ lives are as fun and entertaining as humanly possible while living here at UCSB. The president and board of representatives from all of the complexes are dedicated to working with staff, students, and faculty to create safe and fun communities in the apartments. Past events include Fall Carnivals, Themed Casino Nights, Welcome Socials and BBQs. The Council works in conjunction with volunteers from the community, using funds that are collected from every resident.
