How to Request Residence Hall flyering AND Event funding FROM RHA

Requesting Money

To be placed on the UCSB Residential Housing Association's (RHA) agenda for advertising requests and/or funding requests, please fill out the form by clicking the Agenda Request button to the right.

In order to be placed on the agenda, you and/or your organization must submit the form by 11:59 PM on the Sunday prior to the meeting you are seeking to present at. Submitting this form does not guarantee a spot on our agenda for the following weeks, so please apply at the latest two weeks before your event.

You must send a representative to present at our Coordinating Board Meetings on Tuesdays @ 6:00 PM at Loma Pelona Center. The Administrative Vice President will notify you if you are approved to present.

*Please Note: Meetings will not take place on a national or academic holiday, or Study and Finals weeks. Requests will not be heard at Coordinating Board meetings if you do not send a representative to present on your organization’s behalf with any relevant information, or if you arrive more than 15 minutes late.

The following funding restrictions apply to all groups outside of Residential & Community Living. RHA will not provide funding for:

  • Students providing professional services (photography, videography, disc jockey, performances, etc.)

  • Travel or Transportation Costs (including Uber, Lyft, etc.)

  • Food Expenditures over $500 per year

  • Expenses related to club/organization retreats or development opportunities that are only open to club/organization members

  • Expenses related to off-campus special events, banquets, and picnics (excluding Isla Vista)

  • Equipment purchases, ONLY rentals are allowed, unless the equipment is to be donated to RHA

  • Awards, trophies, gifts or scholarships for individuals

  • Personal items including costumes

  • Student Engagement & Leadership Account Maintenance Fee

  • Expenses relating to conferences outside of UCSB

If requesting permission to flyer in the residence halls, your flyer must be approved by the RHA Coordinating Board. While it is not required that you present at our Coordinating Board Meetings (on Tuesdays @ 6:00 PM at Loma Pelona Center), it is suggested that you attend so the Coordinating Board can ask questions and provide feedback. The Administrative Vice President will notify you of when your flyer will be reviewed and the Board’s decision.

If you are approved for funding, they will need to be brought into an RHA office prior to being distributed to the halls. All flyers must be stamped with an “RHA Approved” logo prior to being hung in the halls. Funding requests should be open and advertised to all on campus undergraduate residents.
